Default Time to change Lender/broker for my Mortgage?

So, I put in an off on the Jan 7th and it was accepted that night. And 3 days before, I got my GFE. The broker didnt offer to lock the rate that day. He says he was shoping ect...Now yesterday, the 11th, I called him and said rates were going up and I wanted to lock ASAP. He said we cant lock right now, call me Monday...he says he is trying to get me a better rate!. He still say he doesnt have me in a specific program yet...Flex100, My community ect.. I close on the 31st...What the heck is going on? I definantlly dont give the vibe as a customer who is stupid ...I have been pretty stern with him at moments. He reminds me of a bad car dealer. He actually came highly recomended. Is he trying to get a slightly higher rate to make more $? I mean I was pretty mad on the phone and he STILL said wait till Monday! I cant belive this guy would take this chance of lossing a sale over something so stupid. Thanks for any advise!
