Hi everyone, I am working as a sales executive in the Alabama area. I’m shopping for a mortgage and need some help. Do you think I should be going to a bank or maybe a credit union to get the best rate? If it’s a credit union how do I find one that I’m eligible to join?

Any help will be appreciated.

Banks have better CD rates but credit unions always offer better rates on mortgages and car loans. Well, at least that’s always been my experience. If you’re an ex-military person or someone in your family is then I’d suggest you check out the Redstone FCU. They always have great rates.

Credit unions are for everyone, but the law places some limits on the people they may serve.
