We have student loans, and I still have a visa to pay off, should we just try and save for a wedding or is it better to get financial help for it? My family doesn't have much money to help us out they're haveing there own financial troubles....

if that was the case i suggest you go for financial help.. if you are not rushing the wedding, you can save. try to balance and budget every single cent you have..

Its would be better to payoff the current liabilities. In this way you will only help yourself to get a better credit score to help you in future and also to take some burdens off you. If you have some time in your marraige then you can go for some financial help and pay off the current liabilities but make your the new loan is much more flexible and beneficial. So that even if you pay it off in future, you can save some amount for your marraige as well. You have to plan your finances very wisely.

I think you just better save up for your wedding. Of course it would be nice to have a beautiful wedding, but would you like to start off your marriage with a lot of bills piling up on your table? Wouldn't it be nicer if you can have a wedding (even if it is only a small wedding) and that you wouldn't have to worry about paying the bills for it later???
